SALIENT FEATURE OF LINE AND TOPOGRAPHY

The 400Kv D/C interstate transmission line between Pallatana and Bongaigaon via Silchar has a route length of 662.8 kms and passes through Hilly terrain (300 kms approx.), reserve forest (124 kms) and cultivated lands in the states of Tripura, Meghalaya and Assam.

FOREST DETAILS

The transmission line traverses through dense forest in the three states of Tripura, Meghalaya and Assam involving approximately 124 Km of line length out of the total 662.8 Kms. i.e. 18.7%. The forest involvement in states of Tripura, Meghalaya and Assam was as under:

MAJOR RIVER DETAILS

The transmission line also crosses major rivers, viz, Brahamputra, Barak and Champabati. 2 nos. well foundations and 1 no. pile foundation were constructed in midstream of Brahmaputra River. Further,1 no. pile foundations have been constructed at the bank of brahamputra river. The maximum height of tower erected in Brahamputra river crossing is 138 metres(329.32 MT). For Barak river, 4.5 metre deep foundations were cast on the river banks and with the use of tall towers (122 metre, 210 MT per tower ) river was crossed. At Champavati river 1 no. pile foundation was cast to cross the river.
